How do I download a Podrunner mix?

You can either download mixes directly every week, or subscribe to have Podrunner download automatically.

To Direct Download:
Visit the Mixes - Podrunner page or the Mixes - Podrunner: Intervals page and find the mix you would like to download. Right-click (Mac: ctrl-click) its "download" button, then select "Save target as," and save the mp3 file to your hard drive.

To Subscribe:
Subscribing is FREE and can be done through these popular readers: iTunes | Zune | Add to Google | Newsgator | My MSN | My AOL

Do I need an iPod to subscribe to Podrunner or play the mixes?

Not at all! Podrunner mixes are simply mp3 files. You can directly download them to your hard drive and transfer them to your portable media player.

How do I know what BPM (Beats Per Minute) I want to use?

Run at a comfortable pace. Count your steps for 30 seconds. Multiply by two. There's your BPM!

What is a podcast?

A podcast is just like any media file that your computer already plays, except that you can subscribe to it using iTunes or a newsreader. Subscribing just means that new mixes will be automatically downloaded as soon as they are available.

What does it mean to "subscribe to Podrunner"?

The "subscribe" button links to a bunch of code called an RSS feed. Clicking it will cause your newsreader, browser, or iTunes to add Podrunner to your subscribed RSS feeds (which is really all a podcast is). Sometimes clicking the button will add it to your newsreader automatically, but sometimes you have to right-click it and paste the address into your newsreader. It depends on the program you use.

How do I subscribe to Podrunner?

iTunes is the most popular method people use. There are also programs called newsreaders (aka feed readers or aggregators) that regularly and automatically read certain Web pages and check to see when new items are updated, and recent versions of the Firefox and Internet Explorer Web browsers include built-in newsreaders. When you add a Web page to one of these newsreaders, it's called "subscribing."

Does it cost anything to subscribe?

Not a thing! Podrunner and Podrunner: Intervals are always free.

Will subscribing to your podcast or signing up for your newsletter invite spam?

We will never share information in any way with anyone, period. We value your privacy and listenership too much to jeopardize either.
