Welcome
to the bright, shiny, new podrunner.com website! Cecil B. DeMille
couldn't have mounted a bigger effort on this thing (though we admit he
coulda outspent us, barely). Decades in the making, the culmination of
the finest talent defecting from major entertainment corporations and
thinktanks the world over. This is what Star Stuff does after billions of years of evolution.
Okay, I exaggerate. You lose perspective when you're sleep-deprived and working hard on something that towers over you like that big Hershey bar in 2001: A Space Odyssey. We're proud of our little site, and even more proud of where we aim to take it -- and you -- in the coming months. The paint is not quite dry on some of the pages and features, and we beg your indulgence until it's all varnished and sparkly.
Meantime, enjoy the new podrunner.com, and enjoy the new 177-BPM mix, "Catapult." I'll tell you a secret about it (what the heck; you look honest): It was done late at night when I couldn't crank out loud because neighbors and parrots might take exception. So I did it entirely on headphones without using any external monitors. I first learned to DJ this way, because I couldn't afford good speakers. It's an interesting way to learn. You have to think fast and think a little oddly. Well, that's me all over. Nice to see that I still remember how to mix like this, though.
If you don't already know about the new Podrunner: Intervals podcast, your timing couldn't be better. P:I DJ Beatsmith has worked with renowned fitness trainer Jenny Hadfield to put together a custom "Gateway to 8K" series to allow those who have completed the inaugural "First Day to 5K' series to continue their training in a logical manner, and for those who are presently 5K runners who would like to improve their distance total run time
